North? East? South? West?

This past weekend Kim Kardashian and Kanye West revealed to the world the name of their newborn baby girl, North West.

Many thought this was a practical joke of some sort or a way for the celebrity parents to throw the public off. Of course this wasn't the case but the rather ironic combination shouldn't be that big of a surprise. Baby North's father is Kanye West after all and he is well known for his far from the ordinary actions and eccentric decisions (i.e calling the former president George W. Bush racist on national television).

Not to mention Hollywood is known for being "different" when it comes to the naming of their children. Names such as Suri, Banjo, Seven, and Apple are all names of celebrity kids and let's not forget Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Jay-Z and Beyonce who are friends with the couple.

All in all, baby North West is the butt of many jokes and she is not even a month old yet. However, the memes and the witty remarks will soon get played out and fade away. Plus, as always there must be some deep complicated meaning behind the name North West or at least I hope so.
